Publicity Manager

In this position you are responsible for generating and executing publicity campaigns with an emphasis on multi-platform features for products & technology clients. This includes building narrative, high volume pitching and securing opportunities that are creative, cutting edge and original. We expect that you'll utilize previous relationships, constantly pursue new ones and have the ability to manage multiple projects at once while remaining organized, detail oriented and professional. This role position demands a high level of time management, innovative thinking and large amounts of client communication. Strong knowledge of digital media and trends is required. Familiarity with online and print media advertising is ideal but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to craft PR narratives 
  • Develop and execute purposeful publicity campaigns for brands 
  • Pitch and deliver local/regional PR wins 
  • Pitch and deliver national PR wins 
  • Pitch and deliver niche industry wins including thought leadership 
  • Develop and execute PR stunts & activations including media plans surrounding for maximum exposure of event(s) 
  • Blog & Influencer management & pitching 
  • Ideate, communicate and pitch unique feature angles 
  • Business and Tech industry feature writing 
  • Writing bios, boiler plates, media blasts & press releases 
  • Leverage social media applications and incorporate latest technology in PR practices 
  • Arranging & attending in-office visits & desk-side interviews for clients in New York, Los Angeles, Nashville, and San Francisco 
  • Facilitating and attending LA-based brand events 
  • Facilitating flow of assets and information between peers, clients & partners 
  • Compile & present project wraps 
  • Distribute clippings and weekly reporting 
  • Communicating and educating clients on opportunities and progress 
  • Monitor and stay ahead of industry trends 

Basic Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years public relations/media relations experience
  • Excellent PR, communications and writing skills
  • Results oriented and experienced in media pitching or in editorial role
  • Demonstrated knowledge/understanding of PR, media and news value
  • Strong media contacts (specifically in the areas of tech and business)
  • Ability to independently handle multiple tasks on deadline in fast-paced environment
  • Strategic and creative thinker
  • Self-starter
  • Positive attitude and team player

Account Manager

The Account Manager team member at The Avenue West a Marbaloo Marketing Company will work out of the Los Angeles office and will manage client communications, marketing partnerships, blogger & influencer relations and internal communication & documenting. This team member reports to Vice President, Julie Behr and works alongside The Avenue West founder Nina Ojeda and owner of Marbaloo Marketing Faithe Parker.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Managing & responding to client communication, questions and needs
  • Communicating and educating clients on opportunities, progress and the temperature of their industry
  • Distributing weekly reporting and other timely documentation to clients
  • Gathering necessary reporting & proposal requirements from internal team
  • Contributing to new business proposals & project wraps
  • Facilitating brand deck creation and competitive landscape research presentations
  • Digital ad landscape & potential unit ideas
  • Pitch angle and story crafting in support of the PR team
  • Thought leadership press pitching
  • Influencer & Blogger relations & gifting
  • Business and Tech Industry feature writing
  • Weekly press grid updating
  • Managing on-site events including planning and facilitation
  • Researching client industry shifts and finding new opportunities wherein
  • Researching, delivering and/or fielding partnership opportunities
  • Submitting Creative requests to ‘Artwork Request’ Basecamp
  • Updating project & departmental Basecamps/Google Drives regularly

At The Avenue West/Marbaloo, we utilize a client-centric business approach. As such, it is anticipated that your work location and hours will vary based on the location and project timing of various clients. You’ll be required to come to Nashville for 5 days of on boarding and training after your initial training period in Los Angeles. All travel expenses will be covered for travel.
